The Ottawa National Forest is a large area of land covering 993,010 acres (401,860 hectares) in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It includes most of Gogebic and Ontonagon counties, as well as parts of Iron, Houghton, Baraga, and Marquette counties. The forest is managed by the U.S.
The Manistee National Forest is a national forest located in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. It covers an area of 540,187 acres (2,190 km²). The forest was created in 1938 and joined the Huron National Forest in 1945 to make management easier, forming the Huron-Manistee National Forests.
Pigeon Point Light Station, also known as Pigeon Point Lighthouse, was built in 1871 to help ships travel safely along the Pacific coast of California. It is the tallest lighthouse on the West Coast of the United States, sharing the title with Point Arena Light. The lighthouse is still used today by the Coast Guard to assist ships with navigation.

The park is managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and is found in the southwest part of South Haven Township and the northwest part of Covert Township, just north of the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.
Saugatuck Dunes State Park is a public park covering 1,000 acres (400 ha). It is located along the shore of Lake Michigan, between the cities of Saugatuck and Holland in Allegan County, Michigan.
Holland State Park is a public park covering 142 acres, which is about 57 hectares. It is located in Park Township, Ottawa County, four miles (6 km) west of the city of Holland, Michigan. The park includes two separate areas near Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan, situated on the northern side of the channel that connects these two lakes.
Grand Haven State Park is a public recreation area located on the shores of Lake Michigan, on the south side of the mouth of the Grand River and harbor in Grand Haven, Michigan. The state park covers 48 acres (19 hectares) and is made up completely of beach sand. It offers camping and beach activities, as well as scenic views of the Grand Haven South Pierhead Entrance Light and the Grand Haven South Pierhead Inner Light.

Charles Mears State Park is a public recreation area in the village of Pentwater, Oceana County, Michigan. The park covers 50 acres (20 ha) on the north side of the channel connecting Lake Michigan and Pentwater Lake.
Silver Lake State Park is a public park covering 2,936 acres (1,188 ha) located next to Lake Michigan and Silver Lake. It is four miles (6.4 km) west of Mears in Oceana County, Michigan. The park is made up of older forests and more than 2,000 acres (810 ha) of sand dunes.
