Alticor is a privately owned American company managed by the DeVos and Van Andel families. It was created in 1999 to act as the main company for several business operations, including the multi-level marketing company Amway and Amway Global, and a company that makes and distributes products, Access Business Group.
In 2006, Alticor bought a company that makes cosmetics, Gurwitch Products, from Neiman Marcus Group Inc. Alticor kept Gurwitch as a separate company it fully owned until 2016, when Gurwitch was purchased by Shiseido.
Alticor Corporate Enterprises
Alticor Corporate Enterprises was founded in 1959. It is a company that owns other companies, including Amway Hotel Corporation, Gurwitch Products, Interleukin Genetics, Metagenics, and Fulton Innovation. Pyxis Innovations Inc., created in 2000, owns Interleukin Genetics and is completely owned by Alticor Inc.
AHC+Hospitality, which was previously called Amway Hotel Corporation, is the hotel business owned by Alticor. AHC+Hospitality owns several hotels in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the British Virgin Islands.
In 1981, Amway Corporation bought, fixed up, made bigger, and renamed the Pantlind Hotel to the Amway Grand Hotel.
In February 2017, CWD Real Estate Development announced plans to change a building in downtown Grand Rapids into an AC Hotels by Marriott with 130 rooms, which would be managed by AHC+Hospitality. By May 2017, Amway Hotel Corporation changed its name to AHC+Hospitality.
