Rory Gamble (born 1956) is an American factory worker and union leader. In November 2019, Gamble became the acting president of the United Auto Workers (UAW) after his predecessor, Gary Jones, suddenly resigned. Jones was charged with fraud and later found guilty of the crime. Gamble became the first African-American president of the UAW about one month after the 2019 General Motors strike ended. Because of the scandal involving Jones, the UAW faced the possibility of a federal takeover. Gamble avoided this by agreeing to financial safeguards and allowing a court-appointed monitor to oversee UAW operations for six years. Members would also directly elect UAW officers. On June 30, 2021, Gamble stepped down from the position and was replaced by Ray Curry. In July 2022, the UAW awarded Gamble the title of "President Emeritus."
