Superfund site
The Kent City Mobile Home Park was added to the federal Superfund list. A buried drum holding 55 gallons of dry cleaning chemicals polluted the soil and groundwater around it, including the well that provided water to the park. Cleanup work started in 1984 and included replacing the polluted well, removing the drum and contaminated soil, and continuing to monitor the groundwater. The United States Environmental Protection Agency took the site off the Superfund list in 1995.
