History

Harper Creek Community Schools was previously called Calhoun Rural Agricultural school district. It changed its name to Harper Creek Community Schools in 1955. At that time, the district had about 1,700 students. Calhoun Rural Agricultural school district was created in 1949 by combining smaller school districts in the area. In the fall of 1957, the high school only served students through grade ten. A new high school building opened in 1958.

The current Harper Creek High School was completed in 2005. The old high school building was then used as the middle school.
